Here’s a good run-down on the heightened level of misogyny in this year’s ads from Dorothy Snarker. It felt that way to me, too.
Commercials, particularly SuperBowl commercials, tend to draw caricatures. Look at how the men were pictured—leering, dopey, clueless, violent, boozy, etc. Only animals seemed to fare positively in the commercials I noticed. I liked the Doritos commercial about the dog with the no-bark collar.
