Comedy legend Carol Burnett is coming to the world’s leading internet TV network in 2018 with the original unscripted comedy A Little Help with Carol Burnett. Carol and her guests panelists — four to eight-year-olds will reveal how a different generation solves life’s biggest dilemmas.

In each of the 12 half-hour episodes, both celebrities and everyday people will bring their real-life issues to a gaggle of kids who dish back hilarious, hard-hitting guidance–all in front of a live studio audience.

“Someone once asked me how old I am inside,” said Burnett. “I thought about it, and came up with, ‘I’m about eight.’ So it’s going to be a lot of fun playing with kids my age.”

Carol Burnett is Coming Back to TV!

Posted on October 22, 2016 at 8:00 am

Carol Burnett has announced a return to series television. And it gets better — she will appear in a sitcom created by Amy Poehler. In presenting Burnett with a SAG award, Poehler and Tina Fey were speaking from the heart when they explained how much she had influenced and inspired them both. We don’t know anything about the show’s premise or other cast members, but we do know it has a contractual guarantee to be aired (rare for a pilot). Can’t wait.

Happy 80th Birthday, Carol Burnett!

Posted on April 26, 2013 at 8:00 am

A very happy birthday today to the magnificent Carol Burnett!

Here’s a glimpse of her star-making performance as Princess Winifred in the delightful princess-and-the-pea musical “Once Upon a Mattress.”

This is the song that brought her to national attention on the Garry Moore Show:

Watch her timing as the world’s worst secretary, Mrs. Wiggins:

Carol Burnett did fine dramatic work in “Friendly Fire” and “The Four Seasons.”  What made her popular “Mama’s Family” sketches on her variety show so memorable was that she was not afraid to make her character tragic.  Happy birthday to a woman of incomparable wit, talent, and class.

“Once Upon a Mattress,” a musical version of “The Princess and the Pea,” is one of my favorites. Carol Burnett became a star for her portrayal of the kind-hearted but rather loud princess when it premiered on Broadway and she repeated the part in two television broadcasts. In this version she plays the queen, who will do anything to stay in power, which means stopping her timid son from finding a bride. The songs, written by Mary Rodgers (daughter of Richard Rodgers of “South Pacific” and “The King and I”) and Marshall Barer, are tuneful, witty, and utterly charming.

In supporting roles, Zooey Deschanel (“(500) Days of Summer”) and Matthew Morrison (“Glee”) are fairy-tale perfect. A great family movie!

(NOTE: Some mild references to making babies)
