Ask Amy Recommends My Blog!

The wonderful Amy Dickenson of Ask Amy was kind enough to recommend my blog as her favorite resource for checking out movies.
Minow smartly distills plots and rates films with kids and families in mind. In two minutes I learned that “Brüno” uses “very strong, vulgar language” along with “extremely graphic and explicit nudity (male and female).”
Let me take this opportunity to recommend Amy Dickenson’s heartwarming memoir of three generations of strong, wise women in her family, The Mighty Queens of Freeville: A Mother, a Daughter, and the Town That Raised Them.
Yes, that’s where I saw it. I think it’s a great service you’re providing for those of us too busy to check out the movies our kids (my nephews in this case) keep bugging us about, because you’re giving us your reviews from a parent’s point of view. Keep up the good work!
Thanks so much, Speereet! Please visit often and let me know what you think about the movies you and your families see.
Speaking from my perspective as a childless, 54-year-old woman, I love your blog, Nell. Your reviews are a great resource for parents, but you include a lot of movies that adults will enjoy just as much. It is clear how much you love movies, which makes your reviews a cut above those of some “family friendly” reviewers.
Thanks so much, Alicia. A big part of what makes my blog useful — and a very big part of what makes it fun for me to do — is the participation of movie-savvy and thoughtful comments from readers like you. It means the world to me and I love the way this blog has put me in touch with such wonderful people.
love your blog! 😀
Nice blog.I like it.Keep it up.
