Thanks to my friend BDK (Kevin McCarthy) for inviting me on his radio show to talk about “Hannah Montana” — we both admitted that it made us cry!

This has nothing to do with the movie but it did get me thinking about young people. I always find it interesting how many young people have become very successful. Presently, I know that young ladies like Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift have become very popular. There are also young female tennis stars and of course those that are in gymnastics. But I got to thinking is this just a modern thing and I feel it is probably not. For example, Mozart was composing at age five and became quite a celebrity. Considering the time period it was probably similar to what Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift are enjoying now. So, maybe there has always been young, talented people throughout time. Hopefully they will grow up and be productive citizens and good, responsible adults.
Thanks, Tim. I am always amazed at the talent of young people but always worry that the experience of fame and of full-time adult-level professional work will hamper their development. It is a lot of pressure and it shifts the dynamic of the parent-child relationship.
