Well, it seems like Shyamalan is finally branching out from Philadelphia and vicinity. The trailer looks intriguing, Nell, but what is the deal with M. Night Shyamalan and hoods? He puts hooded figures in nearly all of his movies. It doesn’t seem particularly meaningful, though we might speculate that his characters are trying to hide in some way. What do you think?
He’s branching out from directing only his own scripts, too, and I think that will be a good learning experience for him. I believe he had too much success too early and hope that he has learned something from his recent disappointments. I had not thought about the hooded characters, but you are right! I’ll think of that when I see this one.
