Can You Spot the Oscar-Winning Actress?

My mother just sent me this photo from her college years. One of her classmates became an Oscar, Golden Globe, and Emmy-winning actress. Can you spot her?
P.S. That’s my beautiful mom in the second row from the front, second from the right.
I agree – your mother is very beautiful, and she looks to be from about the same generation as my mother, based on hair styles. Most of the women in this class picture look like movie stars. I’ll venture a guess however – is one of them Kim Hunter?
Thanks, Alicia, and good guess, but that’s not it!
Is the famous actress Rita Moreno?
I don’t know who it is but my guess it’s the center person in the front row? Right?
Katharine Hepburn???
My guess is Helen Hayes
Could it be Audrey Hepburn?
I’m thinking Katharine Hepburn too.
Was it Lee Grant? It looks like it may be her in the 1st row last one on the right?
Is that Liza with a Z in the top right corner?
I’m re-evaluating – bottom row, left. Glenn Close?
My other guess… could it be Marilyn Bergman?
How about a hint? Where did your lovely mom go to college?
Could it be Patricia Neal? 3rd row second from left? Total guess…
One more shot: Anne Bancroft, front row second from left? And your mom is just lovely!
My guess is Cloris Leachman, 2nd row, 2nd from left. Am I right???
Is the second person from the left in the second row Cloris Leachman?
Guessing from the amount of space the woman takes – or is given – I am guessing the second row, middle woman. Thespians require a lot of room. But I cannot figure out who she is.
You got it, Betty and bogator! It’s Cloris Leachman second from the left in the second row. She left Northwestern shortly after this picture was taken and took her beauty title (Miss Illinois or something like that) and went to Hollywood. Most people remember her best as Phyllis on “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” and then her own spin-off, but she won an Oscar for “The Last Picture Show” and was very memorable in “Young Frankenstein” as well. She and my mom are still in touch. Thanks so much for all the great comments and guesses!
“Frau Blucher!”
Neeeeeigh!
