Happy 100th Birthday, Charles Addams

Posted on January 7, 2012 at 8:57 pm

Google salutes the 100th anniversary of the birth of cartoonist Charles Addams with a suitably macabre Google Doodle today.

Addams created  series of delightfully ghoulish cartoons for the New Yorker, collected in books like Chas Addams Happily Ever After: A Collection of Cartoons to Chill the Heart of Your Loved One.  They inspired the classic 1960’s Addams Family television series, with Carolyn Jones and John Astin and two 1990’s feature films with Anjelica Houston and Raul Julia.
