James T Kirk never served under Christopher Pyke.
Mr Spock was not at the space academy at the same time as Kirk, he was however on the enterprise with Christopher Pyke as a science officer.

Uhura was on the deck of the enterprise when Kirk took over as captain, as was Mr Scott.
