Tribute: Elizabeth Taylor

Elizabeth Taylor, who exemplified grace, beauty, and stardom, has died at age 79. In an era of reality show “celebrities” and fame that lasts not 15 minutes but 15 seconds, Elizabeth Taylor reminds us of what it meant to truly be a star. She will be remembered for her flamboyant, headline-grabbing personal life — the eight marriages to seven men, the tempestuous romance with Richard Burton, the jewelry, her kindness to troubled performers like Montgomery Clift and Michael Jackson, her tireless work against AIDS. But it is her work that truly endures, from her performances as a child in “Lassie Come Home,” “Jane Eyre,” and “National Velvet” to her Oscar-winning role in “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf.”
I will have a more complete tribute soon. For now, just a moment to mourn her passing. May her memory be a blessing.
Elizabeth Taylor was truly an icon and insperation to all of mankind she will truly missed, God truly has a place for her in heaven, may she rest in eternal peace.

Elizabeth Taylor was the most beautiful woman ever to grace the acting stage. She will be truly missed and always loved by her fans. I know I will miss her. She is in a better place now and will be free of pain forever. God Bless you Miss Elizabeth.

I would like to tell every one just how wonderful it was to watch Ms Elizabeth Taylor, in every thing that she did she was a wonderful woman, and she will be truly missed.

To compare Jolie with Elizabeth is a disgrace. Jolie has a long long ways to go to even get close to Ms. Taylor’s status. Maybe, if I’m wrong then someone can explain the comparison.
I have always said, “When Elizabeth Taylor dies she will take
Hollywood with her”, and in many ways she has. She is a legend for the ages–the quintessential movie star. She will be sorely missed. My favorite movie is Butterfield 8 the one she said was a piece of garbage and did not want to do. But won the Academy Award for. Rest in peace Miss Elizabeth
There were only 3 other great Stars like Elizabeth Taylor. And one was just as great as the other–Sophia Loren, Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn. No one will ever come close to them.!!!!!!!!!!!!

Choddie, I do not use troubled as a synonym for being gay. Montgomery Clift was troubled because he was in a terrible car accident that left him scarred (Miss Taylor literally saved his life that night) and his a substance abuse problem. Miss Taylor stood by him and in fact personally guaranteed his ability to do a film by putting her own money up to insure his performance. She was not “into GAY things” or weird in any way. She was a kind, loyal, and generous friend regardless of sexual orientation and a tireless advocate for AIDS research and treatment, which has nothing to do with being gay (as I am sure you know, most people with HIV and AIDS world-wide are not gay).
My baby sister was always referred to in the family as “the poor man’s Elizabeth Taylor” but she has been married only 6 times. Her beautiful violet eyes and giving heart will definitely be missed. We are grateful to have been able to enjoy her talent and beauty during our lives. Thanks Elizabeth.

Ms. Taylor, as I remember her, became a heartfelt and wonderful advocate for those who suffered with AIDS. She was brave for pursuing the AIDS cause and taking the stigma away from this dreadful disease. May she live on in our hearts.
I am sorry to have missed seeing this communication on the late Elizabeth Taylor who was indeed one the greatest and most graceful Stars of our time. I had seen Elizabeth Taylor from near, and I can truly state that one could not resist to be truly impressed by her absolute natural beauty, charm, intelligence, awareness and cognizance. She was as well a great philanthropist and humanitarian. I am so sorry and so sad that she is no longer among us. I sincerely would miss her as a great Star all my life. May I add my name to the list of her admirers. She was a perfect artist.
