Call Me Ishmael (the name taken from the first line of Moby Dick) is a new crowd-funded project that invites everyone to call in to talk about a book they love. This is not a book report. It doesn’t have to be fancy or erudite. It’s like talking to a friend about a really great book that moved you or inspired you or made you laugh or cry. You can listen to comments about books from The Fault in Our Stars and The Catcher in the Rye to Man’s Search for Meaning, The Storied Life of A. J. Fikry and From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler (I love it when she says, “Go read it, go read it, go read it!”)
Is there a book you love? Call 774-325-0503 and tell Ishmael about it.

The evil dictator President Snow in “The Hunger Games” series is played by one of my favorite actors, Donald Sutherland, which gives me a chance to write about some of the outstanding work he has done over more than 50 years.
Sutherland is Canadian and studied acting in England and Australia. His first major movie role was in the classic “The Dirty Dozen.”
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=knwHXfasJLoHe then starred in one of the most acclaimed, popular, and influential films of the 1960’s, Robert Altman’s “M*A*S*H.”
He was a professor in a brief but memorable role in the classic comedy “Animal House,” directed by John Landis.
And he had the title role in “Klute,” opposite Oscar-winner Jane Fonda.
He even showed up in the movie version of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.”
In the Keira Knightly version of “Pride and Prejudice,” directed by Joe Wright, Sutherland played Mr. Bennett.
Coming up — he appears with his son, Kiefer Sutherland (“24”) in “Forsaken,” which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival.

Lisa Henson, CEO of The Jim Henson Company and daughter of Jim Henson, discovered an unproduced script by her father, a Thanksgiving story. Tonight, it premieres on Lifetime. “Turkey Hollow is an unproduced gem from our Company’s archives. I have fond memories from my childhood of my father planning and developing this production. He was delighted by the idea of magical creatures living in the woods and was excited to portray them in a more realistic way than his other well-known puppet characters,” she said.
