Blagojevich Compares Himself to Movie Heroes

Life imitates art, or tries to, as Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich proclaims his innocence with examples from the movies. The governor is accused of trying to sell the Senate seat vacated by Barack Obama and is currently being impeached by the state legislature. As Bob Mondello of NPR explains with his usual erudition and wit, the always-colorful Blagojevich likes to compare himself to characters in movies to show that it is all just a political ploy and that he has not done anything wrong.
He may try to comapre himself to Winnie the Pooh, Charlie Brown, the Velveteen rabbit, or any of a zillion other characters. He is basically Cardinal Richelieu with a wierd haricut and no cool scarlet robes; the Sherrif of Nothingham, or maybe even a Sith – though I doubt he could pass thier entrance exam.
Mr. Blagovich should stand up and take his punishments like a man instead of trying to look like a poor victim.
When he was doing things that were wrong he wasn’t alone in this either and so the people backing him up are just as guilty and should have to take punishment with him.
All of these people get paid to be public servants and forgot what they were suppose to be doing is take care of the people of Illinois.
Its “Shame on them, not on the people of Illinois”
