Contest: Abel’s Field

Posted on January 22, 2013 at 10:20 am

Abel’s Field” is the story of high school senior Seth McArdle (Samuel Davis), left motherless by tragedy, abandoned by his father, and under enormous pressure to support his little sisters. At school, he endures the daily bullying of the football team. When he fights back, he’s singled out for punishment, assigned to an after-school work detail under the supervision of a reserved groundskeeper, Abel (Kevin Sorbo). Much to his surprise, Seth discovers that Abel may be the only one who truly understands his struggles. As dark times lure Seth towards desperate measures, the reluctant Abel may be the one person who can point him back towards the light.  I’m delighted to have a copy to give away.  Send me an email at moviemom@moviemom.com with “Abel” in the subject line and tell me something you hope for in the new year.  Don’t forget your address!  (US addresses only.)  I’ll pick a winner on January 30.

Contest: Pitch Perfect

Posted on December 26, 2012 at 8:00 am

My last contest of the year is a BIG one!  I have five copies of the delightful Pitch Perfect to give away!  I didn’t love the movie, primarily because of some unnecessary gross-out humor.  But I do love the brilliantly talented Anna Kendrick and I loved seeing her handle the lead role with such wit, heart, talent, and pure star power.  The musical numbers are sensational — and the movie includes the magnificent Rebel Wilson.

If you want to win one, send me an email at moviemom@moviemom.com with “Pitch Perfect” in the title and tell me the best gift you GAVE this holiday season.  Don’t forget your address!  (US addresses only.)  I’ll pick a winner at random on December 31.  Good luck!

I’m delighted to have a copy of the brand-new DVD/Blu-Ray release, Trouble with the Curve, starring Clint Eastwood, Amy Adams, and Justin Timberlake.   Eastwood plays an old-school baseball scout, the opposite of the “Moneyball” guys with their computer models.  But he is losing his vision.  His estranged daughter comes with him on one last scouting trip.  “Trouble With the Curve” is available today on Blu-ray Combo pack, DVD and for download.

To enter, send me an email at moviemom@moviemom.com with “Trouble” in the subject line and tell me your favorite baseball team!  Don’t forget your address (US addresses only).  I’ll pick a winner at random on December 23.  Good luck and play ball!
