Pixar began with short films and it still prefaces each of its features with a short that gives them a chance to try something or someone new. That’s the best place to see the up and coming talent who will be behind some of the studio’s future releases.”Toy Story 3″ is preceded by “Day & Night” (not to be confused with this week’s Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz movie, “Knight and Day”), a stupendously clever and entertaining film with some of the most eye-popping use of 3D ever put on (and exploding off of a) screen

  1. Took my grandsons to see movie, surprised by the short, great lesson in diversity! Would like to use with presentations, if available for purchase?

  2. A great idea, Bonnie! Pixar has not released their shorts for separate purchase in the past but does release compilations. I hope this will be included on the next one. I’m so glad you liked “Day & Night!” I thought it was exceptionally impressive.

  3. There were so many great lessons in this short movie. It would be a perfect middle school movie to then be followed up by many discussions. From how we all see things differently, it takes all different types to make the world go round, accepting diversity, being proud of oneself… the list goes on. I would love to buy a copy. Hope they change their mind and make it available.
