‘Outlander’ release delayed — stay tuned

“The Outlander” — with James Caviezel as a guy from another planet who battles a dragon-monster with the help of some Vikings in 760 AD, was supposed to be released nationwide today but at the last minute it has been put on indefinite hiatus.
The strategy of the studios in making decisions like this is truly mystifying. The movie is not that bad. Unlike the third “Underworld” movie, which does open today, “The Outlander” was screened for critics and I thought it was fairly entertaining. The ads have run and there’s not much competition. I’m sorry not to be able to post my review and I hope it gets a theatrical release because its special effects come across pretty well on a big screen. if there are further developments, I will let you know.
The studios’ decision makers are getting curiouser and curiouser.
Some truly smart horror movies got all but ignored last year … “Rogue” and “Splinter” … yet dreck like “Prom Night” got major theatrical play.
Today, straight to video doesn’t mean the kiss of death. It might signify the studio in question doesn’t realize how good its own movie was …
I’ve seen Outlander and i must say it was very well-made, with fine performances, a gripping story and superb special effects. It certainly exceeded my expectations. Recommended for the big screen!

the studio probably had something against one of the filmmakers or the cast possibly against jim cavazial because he stared in made passion of the Christ the movie was great makes no sense it never was released in theaters! They will release the worst crap stories that have been done over and over again but when its something unique like this they will put it aside hollywood is dumb!
