The Worst Christmas Movies

Posted on December 23, 2010 at 8:41 am

We’ve spent a lot of time on the best movies of the season, but like those families whose traditions include an ugly Christmas sweater competition, I want to take a moment to discuss the way that Christmas seems to inspire some of the most hideously painful movies of all time. Videogum’s “The Hunt for the Worst Movie of All Time” includes some horrifically appalling movies like “Four Christmases” and “Christmas with the Kranks,” but overlooks the even worse “Deck the Halls.”
Inevitably, anyone’s worst list will have a movie that you like a lot, and this one has one of my favorites, “Love Actually.” But they are soliciting suggestions for your candidates for worst Christmas movie of all time and there are many good choices left (does anyone remember “Santa Claus Conquers the Martians?”) so let them know what you think.

  1. So apparently there is a Home Alone 3 and 4. They both look absolutely horrid. I mean how many sequels can you make before you throw the towel in. Ugh it’s annoying.
