  1. Hi, When our sons were 6 and 3, we sponsored a Swiss student via the county “4-H!” We grew very close to Heidi in the time she spent with us! She and I would stay up late at night discussing our families while she would crochet the most beautiful doilies, and table runners. Heide also made a beautiful homemade knot bread which our family devoured almost every evening. For my son’s School Halloween Party, she and I made spider cupcakes. When the time came for her to leave and go with the next family, we were all very saddened. Luckily, she returned to our family once again before going back to Switzerland. We even got to meet her future husband, Bernhard! Now, they are married and have four lovely children! They had to leave Switzerland and move to New Zealand to work on a large dairy farm there. Emails between us are frequent and include updated family pictures. I have a feeling that this will be a lifelong friendship. Many thanks…..Cindi
