Avatar Coming Back — With New Footage

Posted on July 8, 2010 at 3:58 pm

“Avatar,” the top box office film of all time, had to leave theaters early to make way for “Alice in Wonderland,” so it is coming back in August with eight minutes of new footage. 20th Century Fox says,

On August 27, return to Pandora and re-experience James Cameron’s History-Making Epic film, with more than Eight Minutes of Never Before Seen Footage- exclusively in Digital 3D and IMAX® 3D. Since – and largely as of result of – AVATAR’s release last December, the number of available digital 3D screens has exploded, and moviegoers who missed experiencing the film in 3D, as well as fans that want to return to Pandora again, will now have that opportunity.

Trailer: The Green Hornet

Seth Rogan and Jay Chou star in next January’s release, “The Green Hornet.”

Not excited yet? Well, wait for this — it also includes Cameron Diaz and Tom Wilkenson (“Michael Clayton”) and as the bad guy, this year’s Oscar winner Christoph Waltz of “Inglourious Basterds.” And here’s the part that gets my heart doing flip-flops — it is directed by Michel Gondry of “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” and “Be Kind Rewind.” Hmmm, I hope the DVD includes a sweded version.

Trailer: Morning Glory

A comedy with Diane Keaton, Harrison Ford, and Rachel McAdams? Oh, yes, please! “Morning Glory,” in theaters this fall, is the story of a harried morning talk show producer who brings in a once-great television journalist to improve ratings. Ford is a deft comic performer and he and Keaton should be great together. Can’t wait.
